This soprano Gopichand is a truly unique piece. A popular Hindu folk instrument, it consists of bamboo tension neck with a single string and tuning peg, attached to the drum and resonating base. A range of pitches is made by squeezing the bamboo struts closer together or farther apart while plucking the string, making a very distinctive sound.
