Why are we passionate about Hospice?
Gordon Companies ChristmasCentral.com matriarch Rachel Gordon “pioneered unequaled volunteerism and devotion to Hospice patients” during her lifetime. It is with pride that we support the Rachel Gordon Endowment. The Endowment is responsible for:
• Educational programs on the practice of hospice, palliative care, and end-of-life issues
• Caring for patients and families that have slipped through the social safety net and who are without basic necessities
• Essential volunteer services that are such an integral component of hospice care

Festival of TreesAn annual tradition in downtown Buffalo now for 35 years, this event is supported and organized by our community and is the main holiday fundraiser in support of Women & Children’s Hospital of Buffalo. So far in 2013 Christmas Central and the Gordon Family have donated over $20,000 in Christmas Decorations for the Festival.
This year’s proceeds were earmarked for the new Children’s Hospital to be completed in December 2015. The Hospital’s move to the Buffalo Niagara Medical Campus and its new design will accomodate advances in medicine by more space for outpatient care, greater opportunity for recruitment of physicians and the ability for employees and visitors to get from one place to another — faster.
As Western New York’s premier holiday event, volunteers creatde a glittering display of beautifully decorated trees, wreaths, mantle & window displays, a Boutique filled with holiday home décor and stunning gifts. Also featured will be a Gallery of Miracles, a walkway featuring stories of hospital patients, their artwork and a 10-foot tree adorned with hundreds of ornaments hand-painted by hospital patients.
The Festival of Trees has been helping the hospital set the standard in pediatric medical care by donating more than $5 million in support of important programs, facility improvements and groundbreaking technology. In previous years, the Festival of Trees has raised money to help with the purchase a $1.5 million CT Scan, purchased a state-of-the-art Ultrasound Machine for $200,000 for the hospital, funding for $8 million Renovation and Expansion of Neonatal Intensive Care Unit and $5 million Renovation and Expansion for the Pediatric Intensive Care Unit.
