Christmas Lights

Posted by friends - November 11th, 2009

Choosing your Christmas lights is a matter of personal preference. Lights should highlight the theme of your Christmas tree. For example, if you are going for a really fun, light-hearted approach this year - go for multi-colored lights. Experiment with colors. I think it’s a good idea to limit the number of colors you use on one tree to two to three key colors. If you are looking for a more classic approach - go for clear or white lights.

At Christmas Central.com, we offer a variety of lighting options.  LED lights save energy. In fact, some LED Christmas lights will stay lit for over 200,000 hours without the need to replace a bulb.

LED lights come on green, white, and brown wire. We also offer them in commercial grade.

Choosing the Right Size Tree for Your Home

Posted by friends - November 8th, 2009

How do I select the right size tree for my home?
There are many Christmas tree sizes, shapes, and styles from which to choose. Select the space where the tree will be displayed prior to purchasing and measure the area. For a smaller area consider purchasing a pencil or slim tree.

Our most popular sized tree is a 7.5 foot medium profile. That’s because the average ceiling height is 8.5 feet so a 7.5 foot tree fits perfectly. You should plan to have 9″ to 12″ of space between the top of your tree and the ceiling to allow for a tree topper and some air so the tree will not look squeezed in.

Typically:

•7.5′ Pencil tree will have a width up to 36″
•7.5′ Slim tree will have a width from 36″ to 54″
•7.5′ Medium tree will have a width from 55″ to 60″
•7.5′ Full will have a width from 61″ to 70″

Shaping an Artificial Christmas Tree

Posted by friends - November 8th, 2009

Pre-lit Foliage Tree Shaping

One of the questions we hear the most at www.christmascentral.com is: How do I shape my Artificial Christmas tree like the pros? When you take your artificial Christmas Tree out of the box it is all wraped up to save space. With a little work you can get your tree to look lush and full. Follow these simple steps and you will be decorating like the pros.

  1. Find the perfect Artificial Christmas Tree
  2. Carefully unpack tree from the protective packaging.
  3. Select the desired location for the tree and place in the Christmas Tree stand. Insert the first section into the tree stand. Secure the first section of the tree to the stand by fastening the triangular wing nuts, without over tightening.
  4. Plug the light cord lead into a UL approved extension cord, at least 6′ long. Insert the plug into an outlet and light the first section. The best look will be achieved by shaping the tree while lit.
  5. Start from the bottom row of tree branches and randomly fan the bottom branches parallel to the floor. Separate the branch tips to form a V shape. Angle the tips slightly upward like they are reaching toward the sun.
  6. Repeat this process for each row and section. Shape each section’s branch tips in an upward angle and more pronounced. The top tree branches should be evenly spaced and the branches pointing upward.

A Note About Artificial Christmas Trees

Posted by friends - November 8th, 2009

When you are shopping for an artificial Christmas tree this year here are some things to note.

  1. How Many Tips Are On The Tree
  2. How Many Lights Are On The Tree
  3. Is The Tree Made of PE, PE/PVC, or PVC
  4. How Traditional Is The Tree

Tips on an Artificial Christmas Tree

The more tips you have on an Artificial Christmas Tree, the more full and lush it will look. When you compare our Christmas Trees to the trees found in all your big box stores, you will notice that our trees have more tips. The last thing you want is to see right through the branches. This will also be the same for your Christmas Wreaths and Garlands. Christmas trees are large investments, and you want to be careful about buying one of those cheap Christmas trees. When you buy one of our Christmas trees you will see it is made to last. It will be a part of your Christmas traditions from year to year.

 Lights on your Christmas Tree

Just like tips, the more lights the better. Many of the big box stores skimp on lights, and only put a few hundred lights on the tree. This will force you to put more strands of Christmas Lights on your tree yourself. A full size tree should have a minimum of 100 lights per foot.

Material

Artificial Christmas Trees can be made of PE, PVC or a PE/PVC blend. The more PE tips your tree has the more expensive, but more life like your tree will be. Trees are noted for having PE by having the names Just Cut, or Fresh Cut. These are the most lifelike trees you will find on the market. Due to the high costs of PE, most trees are made of a PE PVC mix with the outside of the tree being PE and the inside fillers being PVC. PVC trees are what Artificial Trees have been made of for years.

Traditional Christmas Trees

Today you can find Christmas trees in every shape, color and style. While your larger big box stores carry the most basic trees, you will find that our Artificial Trees come in every color, size, style, shape and way. Our trees come upside down, hang on walls, sit in corners, come in pots, are bushy, in/out, stake trees, ball trees, pink, blue, red, purple, green gold and more.
