Fa-fa-fa-fa-fashion!

Posted by Mark - September 24th, 2009

I’m making my lasting impact on the fashion industry. I’m going to make the traditional Santa hat into a year long head-accessory.

Think about it, this is the perfect hat for our generation.  It’s got a little razzle-dazzle on the end with the puffy white ball, a fur rim that would make Snoop Dog jealous, AND its functional!  You ever wear one of these babies in the dead of winter?  It’s like your head is encompased in koala bears.

But what about the summer weather?  Wouldn’t the hat get too toasty?

Well friends, FASHION IS PAIN.  So you might get a little sweaty in the summertime, that’s a small price to pay for looking so fantastic all year long.  You wear this hat during a job interview?  BAM.  They’ll make you CEO overnight.  How about out at the club?  You’ll be making it rain in no time.  No matter what the situation, friends and strangers alike will be in awe of your sense of style.

Fashion Party

We, your fantabulous friends at www.christmascentral.com, have a wide collection of Santa hats for all of your daily needs.  Stock up now…cause they’ll be gone soon.  I suspect its only a matter of time before Hollywood gets in on the trend.

Oh…I guess you can use them to celebrate Christmas too.  Remember you saw it at Christmas Central.com first!

Future Trees

Posted by friends - September 24th, 2009

I am so excited that lights are coming in!

I’ve always dreamed of having a slim green tree, such as our Slim Fresh Cut Carolina FrasierThen, in another area of the house, I’m going to have a smaller red tree. Oh you thought I was going to say pink didn’t you? Ha ha’s. I’ve always wanted a red one..like our 5′ Pre-Lit Red Ashley Spruce Artificial Christmas Tree.

Maybe Santa will deliver for Christmas this year :-)

Get Yer Flock On

Posted by friends - September 22nd, 2009

I just finished listing the Flocked Alaskan Collection.  I was really interested in this collection. About a year ago, I was visiting in Alaska. The collection reminded me of all the beautiful snow covered trees we saw there.

The Flocked Alaskan Collection contains some of our heaviest flocked treeswreaths, and garland.  The flocking is rather pretty especially on the pre-lit items, the lights seem to reflect beautifully off the flocking, and it creates a truly romantic winter wonderland feel.

So if you are in the market for a flocked tree please check out our Flocked Alaskan Collection. I can guarantee that you will love your purchase.  If flocking is not your style, don’t worry we have a hundreds of other trees from traditional pine to hot pink to upside down trees…so shop away.

Simpsons Roasting On An Open Fire

Posted by Mark - September 18th, 2009

I’ll be the first to admit that I am a complete and total Simpsons dork.  I’ve memorized entire episodes that have taken up valuable space in my brain.  I could have learned a second language or perhaps rudimentary masonary with that brain power, but instead I choose to fill it with references to Cletus the Slack Jawed Yokel and Police Chief Wiggum.

For those who don’t know/remember, the first full-length Simpsons episode was a Christmas episode that aired in 1989.  The story involved how the family got their dog, Santa’s Little Helper, from the race track.  Hilarity ensued.  I remember as a 5 year old kid watching the show how AMAZED I was that the show actually continued the following week.  I could not wrap my young’un brain around the fact that tv shows made new episodes to air on a weekly basis.

So 20 years later, The Simpsons amazingly continue to air new episodes.  We’ve lost some favorites over the years like Maude Flanders and Troy McClure, but we’ve replaced them with Duffman and Üter.  One of the greatest things about working here is I get to see all of the Simpsons-themed ornaments and other accessories we carry for the Christmas season.  I know my house would not be complete without a 12″ Plush doll of Bart dressed in a ballet leotard (which he initially wore because that was the only gym class left he could take).

Enjoy all of the Simspons goodness this holiday season.

Turning Your World Upside Down

Posted by friends - September 17th, 2009

So did you know that the Upside Down Christmas tree may in fact be the more “traditional tree” after all??    Before working here I had never even heard of an upside down Christmas Tree.  Some legends say the first trees used in celebrating Christmas may in fact have been “Upside Down” Christmas trees.  Christmas trees were used as a symbol of religious devotion by Christian missionaries who used the evergreen to explain a basic religious tenet of the Trinity - God the Father, Son and Holy Spirit. They were originally hung upside down to make sure anyone who saw a tree in the house knew it was not just a floral decoration.  Other people believe that the upside down tree is used to symbolize Jesus hanging from the cross.  I found that tidbit a bit interesting!

And of course for “practical purposes” the upside down tree makes sense.  Think about how much more room there is to put presents and decorations under the tree!    So what do you think?  Would you ever consider an upside down tree?? Check out our collection at www.christmascentral.com

Getting In The Spirit…of Halloween

Posted by friends - September 16th, 2009

Halloween is coming up soon, and I love decorations!   I bought this super amazing spectacular Halloween “candy” dish. Yay-yuh. According to Lorie I was just “drawn to it”.I need to find a way to hang these orange rope lights.

Happy Holidays. Keep on buying those wonderful Christmas decorations!

Going Green With Christmas Lights

Posted by friends - September 16th, 2009

Howdy Ho!  Christmas Central just got some super cool new lights in for this Christmas Season. For the first time ever we have solar powered lights, which I think is a really cool idea. Solar powered lights not only save on energy costs, but they are a great way to add some light in an outdoor area where there are no electric plugs available.  The lights are LED wide angle lights and they come with a solar panel and lawn stake.  They are smart lights to cause they automatically turn on at dusk. How convenient!

We also got a set of lights that plug into your automobile or boat cigarette lighter so you can add a festive touch to your vehicle.  I feel like Christmas lights are good all year round!

Overflowing With Lights

Posted by friends - September 16th, 2009

So it’s another day at Christmas Central and more lights have arrived. We have all kinds of sizes and colors, from M5 and C9 to Wide Angle and G12, which we better know as Berry lights. We have a variety of bright new colors in this shipment that just arrived, colors like plum, aqua, burgundy, and hot pink.  We also got all of the regular colors that we normally carry, such as multi-color, green, yellow, pure white (which are fantastic for outdoors) and warm clear (which are wonderful for indoors). All of the new lights are LED lights, which more and more people are slowly moving towards because they truly are more energy efficient, better value for your money, don’t break easily like the regular glass mini bulbs would and they are much brighter. This year we actually got Solar Powered lights in stock! How much more energy efficient can you get?  Don’t forget to check them out.

All I (Don’t) Want For Christmas

Posted by friends - September 14th, 2009

An open letter to my dear old Auntie,

So dear Auntie,

I am now 33 years old, and although I think that you are extremely generous, and I would hope that you won’t take this the wrong way, but I want to give you ample notice.  So Christmas is on December 25th.  And well, I think I now have 33 purses in my closet.  33 purses all from you that I have received every year for Christmas for as long as I can remember.  I may be exaggerating a little bit, because I am sure you wouldn’t have gone so far as to buy me a purse when I was a mere toddler.  But dear Auntie, I would just like to ask you, have you ever seen me use one of these purses??  I am sorry, but I don’t carry a purse…  Well 99.99% of the time I do not carry a purse..  I am just not a purse kind of a girl.  And like I said, I hope you don’t take this the wrong way, but I think the 33 purses that are sitting in my closet, many of them with the stuffing still inside of them, will be quite sufficient for the .01% of the time that I do need to carry a purse.

So thank you so much for leaving me with so many fashion options for that .01% of the time!!  I truly appreciate your generosity!!  I would never imagine trying to sway you towards buying me something else besides a purse, but if you see fit, I would love some new perfume, or CASH is a lovely option :)  Or I LOVE the many items that we sell here at http://www.christmascentral.com/ in the Irish collection :)  But of course, what ever you set fit!

Have a lovely day dear Auntie!!  And Happy Christmas Shopping!!
